Did you ever....
Did you ever want to be a
cop, drive a car with lights on top, Wear a badge, wear a gun and be a help
to everyone?
Well me I got to do it all and didn't even miss my
call, For everywhere that I was sent, I took the truth I
represent
Jesus Christ, Gods only Son, who shed His blood for
everyone Drunks and druggies, killers too, liars, thieves, those in
blue Teachers, preachers, businessmen, Kings and Queens for all have
sinned
Then one day the Chief told me, if this is where you want to
be Keep your God away from here, for I'm the one that you should
fear
I told the Chief I can't obey, cause Jesus is the only way The
only way to peace within, the only way to conquer sin The only way to save a
soul, the only way that I'll patrol
Now he knew just where I stood, and
what he asked, I never could I'd just seen too much fruitfulness, to ever try
and second guess The restoration or the fame, that I have known in Jesus
name
Then it came as no surprise, I was told to compromise Separate
your church and state or get prepared to terminate Well I refused to change
my mind and told the Chief that I resign Easter Sunday ninety-five, JESUS
CHRIST is still alive!!
Yes that's right, right here in the USA, a police
officer was ordered not to mention God or Jesus while in uniform. Not because it
affected his professionalism, but because it was a reminder to those in charge
that they were not ultimately in charge of his life.
I was that peace
officer and having been a peace officer from 1976-1995, I can tell you that
peace is a by-product of an uncompromised relationship with God through His Son
Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace and Lord of Lords. The price for this peace is
absolute surrender to Gods Will. The consequences are separation from this world
and its ways. If you're not sure what Gods Will is, check it out in the Holy
Bible, stop by your local Bible preaching Church, or click on one of the links
below, if you will seek to know Gods Will for your life, I promise you, you will
find it! Gods desire is that none shall perish, but all will come to repentance.
God has given me the gift of poetry and I have used this gift for His
glory and honor. I have also authored a book called Inspirational Poems from the

In addition; If you have ever heard
of Harry Chapin or even if you haven't heard of him, you might enjoy the story I
wrote about my meeting with Harry on Thanksgiving weekend 1980, 8 months prior
to his untimely death. And if you don't know Harry Chapin let me introduce
you; Genre: Rock Style: Singer Songwriter, Easy listening, 70s Pop, 70s
Rock Instr: Vocals/Guitar
Singer/songwriter Harry Chapin made a
solid career out of essentially setting short stories to music. His most popular
tracks were "Taxi" (#24), "W.O.L.D." (#34), "Cats in
the Cradle" (#1), and "Sequel" (#23), which was a follow up to
the story in "Taxi." Chapin's music possessed a folksy intimacy,
further enhanced by the stirring chamber-style string work. His voice, while
limited, conveyed the sincerity of his feelings. Chapin did put his money where
is mouth was, devoting much of his time and income to aid the hungry and
socially disenfranchised. During his career, he raised over five million dollars
for various causes. Chapin died in an auto accident on July 16, 1981, while on
his way to do a benefit.
There is a web site of short stories maintained
in honor of Harry, by friends and family, so if you would like to read this
story, click on the Harry Chapin link below.

Also take the time to call
your local DJ and request Harrys #1 hit: "Cats In The Cradle", so you
can hear it for the first time or once again. Either way, I'm sure you will see
how short time is and the value of such a treasure.
Go For The Gold
Did you ever travel down a road, thinking you would find A place
where all the streets are gold and no one's keepin' time
Well I was
traveling down a road, where me first was the way And every selfish turn I
took, the signs would always say
Grab the gusto while you can, no place
for second best Pay your taxes, then you die, just like all the
rest
Right then I saw the hopelessness, of where this road was
bound And prayed for just another chance, a chance to turn around
Then
up ahead a sign that read, if you're the one who prayed You're authorized to
turn around, a U-Turn can be made
So through the median I went, as fast
as I could go Headin' back the other way, with signs I've come to
know
The truth, the life, the only way, the saved, the saints, the
free Signs I'd only heard about, but now directed me
So if you travel
down this road, here's what you will find A place where all the streets are
gold, and no one's keepin' time

Luke 6:45 (King James Version) A good
man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and
an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is
evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
